I thought this movie was pretty lame

I saw it last night - I love it! The story is altered, but it still retains the tragedy of Beowulf and his fall from grace. His heroism from the start is flawed and boastful, and he pays for the flaws and weaknesses of his youth with everything he has. Alterations to narrative aside, it even dealt with the Christian / old gods turmoil present in the original story, so hats off to the makers of this piece - it's as flawed as the hero it represents, but it's fabulous as a spectacle and adaptation of the oldest known complete story in English literature.

Read the translation of the peom by Seamus Heaney - beautifully written.

I thought it was pretty awesome. It pissed me off how much they changed the story, but the fight scenes are so badass!

Haven't seen this nor do I plan too.. I thought it looked cool until I realised it was "animated/computer generated" I would maybe rent it but won't see it in the theaters..

I was disappointed. It wasn't BAD, but it wasn't that great.
