Holy shit! I've been planning on re-watching this tonight with my girl. It RULES.

Dicaprio, top 5 young actors today. He's awesome, and the movie (while really sad and fucked up) is terrific. Very telling.

People need to learn about that damn diamond trade.

Dicaprio was excellent, but imo Djimon Hounsou totally stole the show in this. He was just awesome.

Jennifer Connely I can take or leave, I think she was a wee out of her league. She's certainly super-duper hot though.

That guy is underrated as hell. And my girl totally digs him.

He was good in Gladiator, brilliant in Amistad.


Connelly was nowhere near as bad as that chick in Superman Returns, playing Lois Lane, IMO. Ugh.

She's not a bad actress, just nowhere near as good as her costars in this one. It's not really her fault, it's like putting George Clooney (who's a decent actor) in a scene with Al Pacino.

Yeah. I think they saw "OSCAR WINNING!" (A Beautiful Mind) and thought it'd be a trifecta.

Certain people fit certain roles and cast chemistries, I guess.


Great movie, though! Highly recommended to all you mugs out there. See it. You won't regret it.

Excellent movie. I was thoroughly surprised by the caliber of the film.

I never had too high of an opinion of Dicaprio until some of the kickass recent roles he's been doing such as in "The Departed," "Blood Diamond," "Gangs of New York," etc. Now I highly regard the guy as a great actor with some pretty sweet roles.
