Seriously, this absolute masterpiece of a film is something you must see at least 3 times. I doubt there's too many people here who've heard of it, but it's a Korean film, and quite easily one of my favourites.

There's rarely a film like this that's so well written, and so well directed that is pulls you in so completely. I really felt for the characters in this film, there's an incredible depth to them and some scenes will have you laughing, but some will nearly bring you to tears. The plot is incredibly gripping, the direction brilliant, the acting phenominal, and the film seems to blend a myriad of genres effortlessly.

I've seen it quite a few times already, and I think I might pop it on later and watch it again, it just doesn't get boring. I cannot say enough good things about this movie.

I'll stop waffling in such a fanboyish manner, and just say:

SEE IT!

y'know i nearly saw this in the cinema when it came out but i was told it looked too "silly" to go watch, plus said person didnt like foreign films (american films are foreign arent they well to us )

i tell you what Karl, if i get my coursework done in time i'll nip down to the video rental place and give it a watch because it did look pretty cool from the trailers i remember

Truth be told, the plot summary on imdb.com is useless. I'll attempt a better one:

Lee Byeong-gu thinks there are aliens among us, so he kidnaps the man he believes to be their leader here on earth, wealthy corporation owner Kang Man-shik, and begins to torture him in order to find out their plans, as he thinks something terrible is about to happen, and the aliens have something to do with it.

What ensues is a tense battle of wills between captor and captive, where the tragic past of the main character, aswell as his motives and previous actions are brought up, while police detectives are desperately trying to track down Kang's kidnapper, and link this to a string of other unsolved dissapearances.

How's that sound?

Best way I'd describe the film is like a cross between Saw or Silence Of The Lambs with Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, mixed with a lot of tear jerking tradgedy, a sick sense of humour, and an altogether unhealthy dose of paranoia.

Man, i owe you a million for this. I cant belive i missed it since i've got extremly interested in Korean cinema for the past year or so... it's brilliant!!!
