Thep is on a distinguished road
This is one album you really need to get (if you are into really heavy stuff)

Even if you are not really into Death Metal, you might just like this one: Deicide, the Stench of Redemption

i've been a Deicide fan for a long time, and when the Hoffman brothers quit the band I was dissapointed by the fact they got Jack Owen to replace one of them. As many of you know, Jack Owen is a big loser. However, they got Ralph Santolla. I didn't know who was before this, but I checked him out and he was pretty awesome. I went to see Deicide live at a relitavely small venue, and my thoughts of Jack Owen were only confirmed. However, while the rest of the band was sitting in a room in the back, Ralph was walking around and checking out the opening local bands, and I got to talk to him. He seemed like a really cool guy and asked me to check out their new album, The stench of redemption. The show sucked, they played all thier old stuff badly, Jack was making up solos he couldn't play, and Glen looked like he wanted to take a nap.
I didn't really want to get the new album after seeing the show, but out of respect for Ralph and Steve, who did TRY to put on a good show, I purchased it. And my goodness, I'm glad I did.

It is my new favorite Deicide album. It is really different from thier previous works, but so refreshing and alive. Almost every song is good enough to be a single. It is not as repetative as their other CDs, and Ralph solos... oh my god...beautiful, they are not just mindless shreding, they are well thought and very melodic. Jacks solos on the other hand were not too great, but didn't take away from the music. It is no less heavier than thier other albums, but IMO alot better.

Definately their best, though i wish Dave Suzuki would've stayed in the band instead of Jack. Apparently, both guitar players from Vital Remains were SUPPOSED to be in the band, but in order for that to happen, VR would've had to call it quits which they didnt want to do.

I also agree. I heard Dave did backup vocals when he played live with deicide. That would've slayed
