Tetsuo 2: Bodyhammer
Found an old VHS copy of this at the market today...
Jesus, it's one of the most twisted films I've ever seen! Recommend it!
Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

Is this a sequel to Tetsuo: Iron Man, which was also a fucked up (pneumatic drill penis anyone?!) film...? Those crazy Japs!

^Yes, it is. It isn't as good as the first one. I didn't really like either of them that much, but I could appreciate the first one. I couldn't really appreciate this sequel. I like a lot of the same directors other works, though.
In the "Tetsuo" thread, I recommended this movie, so I'll recommend it again. I think DR here would probably like it. It's the same type of film, but much much better done (in my opinion) and with my favorite actor (Tadanobu Asano) in it (who also did the industrial/punk soundtrack for the movie). And the main character is a guitarist too! Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0276935/ (Note: The user comment that is on the IMDB page right now compares Tetsuo and this film and gives a nice comparison of the two directors' work and their film genres and talks about the history of both films, mostly Electric Dragon. The only disagreement I have is that he think that Tetsuo is a better film, whereas I think Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts is a better film.) |
