'Hero'. I love this Film!!!!!

Anyone else a fan of 'Hero' ?

I think it's got a great plot but more than that i think it's visually stunning.

The way they've saturated nearly every different scene with a particular overall colour is great to look at.

I've watched it many times and never get bored with it.

I like 'House Of Flying Daggers' a lot too but i just think 'Hero' has the edge on it.

I kept hearing that H.o.F.D. was an improved version of Hero, but having seen them both I much prefer Hero. Stunning visuals. Great films.

Yeah, one week i think i prefer 'Hero' but then i'll watch 'HoFD' again and think i prefer that.

Suffice to say that they're both awesome films of that genre.

I love 'Crouching Tiger..' too but i just find that it dragged in the middle a bit too much.

I prefer 'Once Upon a Time in China'. I think 'Hero' is a load of aesthetically pleasing and pretty shit, in comparison. It's Hollywood's take on classic Chinese film making which means convoluted and basic storylines with little historical relevance. Sorry.

If you haven't seen Once Upon a Time in China, BUY IT NOW. Jet Li's finest moment in the youth of his career.

* Dormant appreciates he is a complete snob.

Check out the movie, The Promise. It's blends the old world China with some fantasy based theatrics, think LOTR. Gorgeous visuals, a strong soundtrack/score, and plenty of action.

I've seen it more than a year ago, and already have the original version on DVD. It's being adapted for America.
