Any hardcore fans here?

I'm just about to sit down and reread the Vampire Chronicles, all of which I've read in the past (although some of them so long ago that they could do with rereading anyway).
Love all her books, including the insanely underrated 'Vittorio the Vampire' and 'Violin'.

Favourite books/moments/characters?
(oh, and no-one is to bring up that ghastly film adaptation of 'Queen of the Damned'...)

I love Ann Rice. In particular the Vampire Chronicles. I haven't gotten into the Mayfair Chronicles stuff as much, and I have read zero of her erotica, or her newfound religious material. I want to read 'Christ the Lord', however.

Let's see... favorite book? Probably 'Blood and Gold', since it tells the tale of my favorite vampire, Marius. But as very close second, both in terms of book and character, is 'The Vampire Armand'. I just think those are two splendidly deep characters.

Favorite moment... Lestat falling from Heaven with his eye plucked out, after rejecting Memnoch's offer. What a scene!

I used to read her vampire Chronicles, I need to get back into it. I like all the characters really, it's pretty hard to pick one. I agree about Queen of the Damned, also the soundtrack was much better than hearing John Davis doing Lestat's vocals damn did he suck

I love Anne Rice. Have all the Vampire Chronicles. Stoped reading them at Merrick though . I love Menoch the devil and Tale of the body theif

Memnoch was so underrated...I think my favourite moment in the Chronicles would be Lestat receiving Memnoch's note at the end...such a nasty twist!
Close second favourite moment would be Armand thinking he saw Bianca for a moment in the Vampire Armand, but not being able to bring himself to ask Marius if it really was her. The one problem I had with Blood and Gold (which was otherwise excellent) was that I'd have prefered that question to have remained open, just for pathos' sake!
I haven't read the Mayfair books either, although I've read the ones where they begin to converge with the Vampire Chronicles (first of which (Blackwood Farm) was excellent, second (Blood Canticle) not as much so).

I have read the first 3 of the Vampire Chronicles books. Pretty entertaining stuff. "The Vampire Lestat" was probably my favorite. I haven't read any of her other books.

I loved the first four or five, but right around Vittorio she just gets WAY too gay with her character descriptions. I know she's all about setting the mood, but I really don't need to read 12 pages about one guy noticing the rippling, glistening nipples of another guy. It's just creepy.

I thought Blood Canticle was excellent. Kind of a bittersweet ending, though, but appropriate I suppose.

Chris would have a ball with Blood and Gold,

what with Marius blowing the young pre-vamp Armand and all.

i thought queen of the damned was a horrible movie, but IMO the songs were WAY (and i mean WAY) better with jon davis singing them than the guys from disturbed and linkin park. also, the dude uses a UV777BK on stage

oh, and i think all of the homoeroticism may have something to do with the fact that ann rice use to be a man.

I've never read the books, I've only seen the films of Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned (which is pretty shit). My last girlfriend and my current one are huge Anne Rice fans though. Maybe I should borrow the books off my current girl.
