The body arrived today! Unfortunately it's gonna take a bit of work to screw the neck in.

Mine's mahogany so the grain's sort of more obvious anyway. So I guess I'll go for a stain then tung oil.

Haha! Oiling it is Easy! Just wipe on, let dry, and repeat a million times!
The trick on basswood is to get that grain to pop out- I lightly scorched mine with fire, but you can put a darker dye diluted with water on and then sand it back- this deepens the grain appearance.

That's it man! That, but with a red dye/stain.

What was your process for applying tung oil?
