different drum samplers in Logic. the main drums in this song are just regular roland 909 type samples, while the background drums are some other lo-fi-ish kinda set of samples. it´s a drum plug-in that comes with logic (all of the electronica stuff is).

i just use logic 8 pro. there are tons of thingmajigs and stuff in there. a nice collection of drum samples, piano samples, string samples, and then a bunch of really cool synths.

the "magic" comes from layering lots and lots of stuff with different effects and stuff.

i´ve always been ADD like that. i´m better at finishing songs when i either have someone else doing it with me (which was always the case when i played in bands), or if i have a really clear direction for the song. i often go way over my head, and make things that require/demand a progressive buildup, and then i fail at imagining progressions

this latest song is going to be easy though. it´s one of those very few songs that just speak to me somehow. i´ve already heard the whole thing in my head.
