Sorry it took so long to respond. My favorite kinda tone is a cross between Mastodon/Tool/The Melvins...and the Swamp Thangs give me clarity with sound reproduction since my distortion comes from my preamp section. I'm using a Carvin TS-100 for a power section and I don't need any distortion for my power tubes so I prefer the Swamp Thangs, they work well with my rig. And they can take the 100watts the TS-100 dishes out.

Most people here will tell you to go with Vintage 30s or Greenbacks - something like that. I'm afraid you'll have to try them out...Try as many as you can, got a Guitar Center nearby?

By the way, what's in your rig?

  • Signature
Why? Because I want my distortion to be like "the perfect woman"...Unique, versatile, thick (with lots of low-end, balanced high-end) and classy enough to make your knees buckle in it's presence and pretty much an all around jizz-in-the-pants to be around.
