I think she expected Swedish people to be colder and distant. I think what she means is that she felt an actually warm reception, and not just polite. Of course, the fact that she's pretty might be a relevant factor

It's still free for foreigners, even from non-UE residents. However, according to the University of Lund site, that's probably changing in the near future.

Anyway, according to my friend, transport and drink are what are most expensive in comparison to Rio (it's a very expensive city by itself ). She goes everywhere by bike and doesn't drink much (I don't drink alcohol myself), so it's feasible. I bet I couldn't ride a bike on winter, though . Lund has a Human Rights Law master's degree (in English) which I've been eyeing for quite some time now.

I wonder why Litterature course alone isn't free, though
