Got it! Arrived inside 10 days, which is pretty good considering. The original packaging was excellent so they didn't need to repack, all the documentation was properly attached and no hold up in customs. All told they did a great job.

It just arrived at Freeport Forwarding and should have shipped - still waiting for notification of that - delivery was estimated 9-10 days. I would think the SA Post Office could add quite a few more onto that while it clears customs.

Since it's an awkward size and weight, insured shipping came to $117 - about 1/8th of the cost. I doubt that sort of fraction would apply to smaller items like glasses (it could be worth your while to check out UPS or the like as well). I'd definitely insist on insurance though.

Freeport Forwarding were OK to deal with, but not the same level of personal service you get from Sweetwater. Everything was factual, no more and no less. Let's face it, this is a small item to a freight forwarder and probably more of a pain in the arse than anything else. Still, they seem to have done their job. Now just waiting for the geetar; I'll do the pics when it arrives.

No deliveries on the Sweetwater side yet, so still nothing to report. I haven't forgotten!
