New dutchy
Hey there,
I've been visiting here from time to time when searching for info/tips etc. So it's about time I'd register. Name is Marco I'm from Rotterdam (Netherlands). I've been playing 7's since 94. I have a couple of 6's and 7's. For 7's i have: Ibby UV7BK Ibby UV7PWH Ibby RG1527 Ibby Xiphos (modded with trem) Custom build explorer 7 Custom build ironbird 7 Custom build les paul 7 Epi V7 (modded) FrankenRg made from spare parts. I do not think I'll become a massive poster here but occasionally I will ask a question, or anwser one if I can. |

Yeah, it looks very nice... But to be quite honest with you, The Rg is a better guitar construction wise compared to both UV's.. I have had the priviledge to play a lot of older UV's. I own two of 'em and I have a couple of friends who also have some. And i found the newer necks to be much more rigid. I've also had two RG7620's without the bubinga skunkstripe and those also were not as stable as the RG. The UV's have way more mojo but get played the least of the bunch.
I have a few more 6's but those hardly leave their cases as i only play my seven strings. The explorer is the newest one. I have it since a month or so. It was build by Sjak Zwier a Dutch Luthier from Vlissingen. he has a small store/workplace there, out of which he builds for a lot of respected Dutch players and some internationally famous folk too. I feel very lucky he had the time to build it for me. |

I always thought Cliff getting killed instead of Lars was like John Lennon getting killed instead of Yoko - MJS how many guitars are enough? ...just one or two more!

![]() That is one mean-ass collection you have there, my friend! It's like one big collective beast ready to punch a woman in the face! ![]() Love it. "The Beard laughed, a sad laugh, it was the sound of birds being scrunched under foot." |
