So eventhough i cant start building my next guitar until my next board exams over i felt it couldnt hurt if i just start sourcing wood and parts now. i mean why not right?

So after i realized that there was a Woodcraft nearby i figured i'd stop by and see what they had in store. last time i picked up some nice curly maple and stuff for a neck.

this time i came back with three large exotic pieces of wood. These will be enough to last me a while with whatever builds i plan on making. (this is an addiction/obsession now).

Without further ado...

The Yellow wood is Canarywood, The orange is Brazillian Cherry, the reddish one is Bubinga!

These will yield about 6 necks if i go one piece and less if i choose to laminate. so im set for my next builds. Last time i got the maple blanks so perhaps i'll give the laminating necks thing a try, they do look beautiful.

As a reference heres one of the 6 string semi-hollow singlecut designs i wanna make for myself

using this figured redwood i posted about earlier!

Oh yess im excited! this will get me through the step 2 boards. cause residency will not afford me time to do this at all.

first, very lovely woods!

Second, be careful using that redwood.... stupid fragile wood... and it loves to warp easily...

I'ts been a while since the last time I thought an electric guitar shape looked this good! I'll keep my eye out to see this thing unfold

I like that shape a lot!!!

And as Bob said, careful with the redwood. Tiny piece of advice: When you glue it, apply the glue to the body first, and then to the redwood itself... and BE FAST, because the moisture in the glue will warp the redwood if you take too long. Shouldn't be a problem if you work fast though.
