Issues with BRJ... big issues.

Hey guys.

A friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) is having lots of trouble with a deal between him an Bernie Rico Jr. I am NOT looking for a bash fest towards Bernie Rico Jr. or anyone in this thread, I just need some answers to hopefully explain a very odd situation.

To make a long story short, he ordered a guitar through BRJ, and payed a $500 deposit. He gave him an estimate saying it would take 6 months to complete and he would recieve lots of pictures and information as the build went along. They kept in contact for the first three months quite a bit through text, email, and phone contact, he always got quick replies from BRJ. Around the 4th month he stopped contacting my friend at all. My friend has repeatedly emailed, texted and called him over the past 4 months (meaning the guitar is overdue by 2 months by now) with absolutely no replies from him whatsoever.

BRJ has multiple ways of contacting my friend so it couldn't just be lost contact info. His website had a guitar sale since then so it's obviously being updated and he's around as well.

My friend just doesn't know what to do. He doesn't care about the deposit he payed, he's more than willing to let BRj keep the $500 and walk away, very much just wants to put the whole thing behind him. He's wanting to put the money elsewhere and doesn't want BRJ calling him a month from now going "Here's your finished guitar, you owe me the rest of the money now."

Can anyone tell me what's going on with BRJ lately? Yes, of course he's busy, that's fine, but a professional luthier would contact his customers if he was having issues, you would think.

AGAIN WE DO NOT WANT A BASH FEST HERE. We just need to get a few answers since we're not getting them from Bernie Rico Jr.

Go to dealers section and read the bfr sale thread. He is not really getting anywhere on time.

Also your friend should have done his research, bernie has been doing this stuff since last year
