ERB pickup question

Hi, Im a newbie building that is currently in the process of making an 8 string bass with a larger string spacing. Instead of isntalling a custom pickup I have decided to use two joe barden rail pickups(http://........com/8y736fm). The problem is that the pickup rails will overlap strings, will this cause any volume problems for the strings that get covered by both pickups? Thx
