Polishing a neck?
This might be a noobish question. Can it be done?
I notice that after playing an unfinished neck for a few months, it tend to start becoming glossy, from dusty and rough to silky smooth. Can this be accelerated? Will lemon oil work?

Micro mesh should be all you need, something around 8000. Oils won't do anything as the neck has a hard/solid finish, and isn't bare wood, not to mention oil isn't an abrasive or a proper polishing compound.
Need help with setting up a trem? Need info on your Ibby? Live in Milwaukee? Please feel free to message me. New Rules. Read Them. |

Building off what Max said, wet sand to make sure you don't ruin the micro mesh.
Higher than 8000 and you're going to start polishing to a shine. Infact, for a satin, I wouldn't go higher than 8000. |
