New build : Hubble
I'm going to be doing a build concurrent with Planck New build : Planck
Planck is a 24.625 6'er. This build named Hubble, is going to be a 27in 7 string. So I just grabbed up this top Flamed old growth reclaimed redwood. I only need half the height since i'm doing another headless in the vein of einstein,(for those who may not have seen einstein - NGD - Einstein is finished) so i can slice out that really flamey part and have the whole body with deep flame since its so small(only 13in. tall) ![]() Then this neck, wild olive wood. I'm thinking about doing a one piece neck and installing the truss rod in the back ala fender. its wide enough to get the skunk stripe fillet off of this cut as well

My build's been at a little bit of a slowdown due to random rain, however I've started slotting for frets, aside from a minor pickup setback, the guitar as a whole is coming together quite well. I look forward to seeing Hubble take off!

This piece of olive wood is super ....ing heavy and dense. Its pretty damn big too. I'm kind of thinking about going upto 28.5'' instead of 27''. I LOVE my 28.5 warmoth 7, and i honestly want to use every bit of this wood
As it is, i'l have enough to make the skunk stripe to cover the rear installed truss rod, and enough to make binding from. So, i'm considering doing olive binding on the body to tie it all back together. Not decided on that, but at least SOMETHING I'm making is going to have olive wood binding. ![]() ![]()
