RGA8 body & RG2228 neck?

This is probably a stupid question. I'm just curious...

Would an RG2228 neck fit an RGA8 body without any major modifications to the neck, neck pocket etc.?

Has anyone tried?

Would anyone want to try? Hmmmm? HMM?

Would the goal be to make an RGA8 play better, or to give an RG2228 a Mahogany, arched body?

It would be cheaper to get an RGA8 neck some better fretwork, or to get a custom body made for an RG2228.

Definitely the latter.

I don't believe they will, as the width of the necks at the last fret, where the neck heel is, are different.

The RG2228's neck is narrower than that of the RGA8. So an RG2228 neck will fit to some extent, but it'll have terrible coupling. Combine that with the hit or miss quality of the Mahogany used on the RGA8 bodies and you're not really going to be gaining anything.

Just get a custom body made for a 2228 neck and you'll be way way happier with it, I can almost promise you that.
