NWD!!!! you guys are gonna drop your pants...
Ok so i know i just posted an NGD but theres a funny story with this one..
so i was bored and going thru Oregon Wild Woods and saw something and without thinking i just bought it. It came yesterday and i just put some mineral spirits and took it outside for a photoshoot. check this shit out guys.... ![]() ![]() ![]() still got a while till i use it but damn it looks spectacular. i need help deciding which way to use it. the three are just the same top with panels flipped either way and horizontally. trying to see how to capture the most amount of figure on the body as possible. also the rest of the wood will be for back cover and headplate like my last build. Enjoy!!! ![]() EDIT: its figured Redwood. sorry didnt mention that before |

Super sweet! Congrats on that piece
![]() The first pic seems to capture the most figure on what will be on the body. The last pic however has some really nice grain patterns going perpendicular to the curl looking almost like a face with two eyes! |

i guess i'll just have to make a bigger back panel this time so i can use another nice chunk lol. then the headstock is gonna get some.....need to find more uses.... i suppose i could cut 3/4in strips off the side and laminate the neck with it. that would look so killer with flamed maple along side it. whaddya think? |

I'm kind of torn between the first and third pic. both would be amazing though.

Nice score
![]() I'd say the mid pair, because the patterns match the best. Turn this pair upside down, i.e. with the buttom aligned against the neck. I suggest you try taking pics using a polarizing filter, which will better allow seeing just how those lines stack up. Make sure to use a circular polarizer with a digital camera, and experiment with turning the filter to close enough reflexes, but not nessesarily all. You'll see what I mean once you get going. Doing this could be important, as the two otherwise lovely slabs aren't bookmatched, so you'll want to line them up as best as is possible. This just may bring the two buttom pairs forwards. What I mean is that it looks like the two pieces has different amount of detail, but this could simply be a matter of how light is casting reflexes. van Sinn.. plays progressive metal, jazz/rock fusion and Hindu-derived ambiance says, stop second guessing the past, keep pushing, or risk getting left behind opposes any kind of mind control, has no tv - but has a fully functional pineal gland |

Holy crap!
I like the third pic! It reminds me of Tool artwork. ![]() Which species is this lumber? Really nice grain and figure anyway! I always got wood when surfing on the wood suppliers sites... Damn! Why does shipping cost and taxes cost an arm, when you can import wood here in europe?

^ hehe, and you don't even have our long standing world records in taxes..
![]() (sorry, a Bit off-topic) I also think the third could be the best contender; just unsure about the differences in detail being the result of how lights falls. van Sinn.. plays progressive metal, jazz/rock fusion and Hindu-derived ambiance says, stop second guessing the past, keep pushing, or risk getting left behind opposes any kind of mind control, has no tv - but has a fully functional pineal gland |

Beautiful one.
Not going to lie. I almoast feel like I know every redwood top they have in stock. I've spent so many hours looking at them and trying to decide on one that it's not even funny. Thanks for making my next choice a tiiiny bit easier. Is this... guitar?

Third pic makes it look like a sad lady's face. I kinda like the figure's direction in the second one though.

Seeing it again now, I'd go with #1. I'd add a piece as the control cavity cover too. The curl is so big I'm not sure it would show a lot in a neck laminate. But techno is right, it's a super gorgeous piece and it's gonna look sexy no matter how you decide to use it

Definitely go with the first, it's got a "3D" effect that is hard to find on woods like that. VERY unique!
