Went to Bernie's Shop...My Builds in Progress

Went out to Bernie's shop yesterday. Hung for a few hours, checked out my guitar, shot the shit...and I bought another guitar while I was there.

This one has a see through black oil finish. All it basically needs is hardware, electronics, nut, and setup and it is ready to go.

And then the original one I have had on order forever. This one has some of the sickest quilt I have ever seen. It has been hit with a bit of black to make the grain pop under the finish that it will get. It is getting a tiger's eye burst gloss finish.

I'm really curious about how the oil finish looks and feels in person it doesn't look thick or glossy like most finishes. Your color choice on the second guitar is real nice, very subtle.

Every time I see that quilt on the 727 I want to crap myself. I showed my wife and she said "I wouldn't even stain it. It looks like the fires of Hell itself are coming out of the guitar."

And that black oil stain. Wowza. Making me long for pictures of my charcoal stained... it's been clear coated and dried. It's just waiting for set-up. God, the pressure is building. Anyway, great stuff, and it makes me think maybe I'll take a 4-day weekend and just drive to the shop to pick up my guitar! T'would be epic!

The figuring on that second one is nuts...

"... and on either side of the river was the tree of life. The leaves of this tree were for the healing of nations."

"He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle and the herb for the service of man."

"Lifes too short to hate Floyd Roses."
