What a crock, I wrote a massive post with case after case but thought fuck it. I'm sick of people spouting crap like that just because it may not have happened to them. I'm not against police, I against corruption and there are plenty of corrupt police and it's a very corrupt system. You would have to be a fool to believe what you wrote above, there is more than enough media documented evidence of widespread corruption for anyone of even moderate intelligence to know that people get busted even when they do nothing wrong.

Someone get a move on and sell me your B7 or CST before I spend my money on something else I don't really want

@Josh Lawson

Read the thread starter's story, what were they doing wrong there? Why was it necessary t pull them over? Why did the cop lie about their speed? Why was he tailgating them? (Oh I know this one! To get them to speed so he can ticket them, wait isn't tailgating a ticketable offense?)

I fully support our law enforcement, but there are a lot of shitty cops. Every time some fucker on a power trip gets 2 feet off my bumper with his brights on at 12:00am I have to restrain myself from brake checking the guy. What's the reason for doing that? It's extremely dangerous, makes it harder for me to see, he can't tell if I'm a drunk driver because he's so damn close to my car he wouldn't notice if I was swaying a little bit

I get what you are saying. I agree with you about corruption and power corrupting officers on rare occasions. There are always going to be a very small amount of bad cops out there, and filing complaints is the best approach to take. The cops have "fucked" with me more than a few times, and I have a criminal record. Every time I got arrested, I more than richly deserved it. Yes, there are bad cops out there, but there are REALLY bad people out there as well. I've just always felt through all my dealings with the police that if a person cooperates with them and doesn't say things like:
"You can't do that! I fucking know my rights!" they seem to go away faster, and really isn't that the end goal...to have them leave quickly, without getting a ticket or going to jail?

Quoth the early 80s hardcore punk band, Circle One,

"highway patrolman -- DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!"

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

I hate to say this, and I know a lot of people won't agree with what I have to say, but if you aren't doing anything wrong, you really won't get busted. A good example this is all of the previous testimonials in this thread. These men and women are knee deep marinating in human filth day in and day out, 99.9% of the time doing their best serving the public interest. Most people would crack under their daily pressure, or maybe kill someone...most likely a waste of skin, I might add. If they wanna search my fucking car, house, pockets....I say go ahead, I've got nothing to fear and nothing to lose. This is one of the simple pleasures of being a law abiding citizen. Privacy and "rights" are quaint 20th century notions that really don't exist like they used to, and I am just fine with this. Crime is down and that is all that matters to me.
Fuck that. I go to University of Florida. i know a guy on the UFPD. (Our university police force is a fully accredited law enforcement department with the same power as the city PD. They can do anything the city PD can, and in fact have jurisdiction over the whole county, sicne they arent bound to a specific town.) The stories he tells are rediculous. They profile like motherfuckers. They pull over people who pull up besides them and wave, and make up excuses like "Your tint looked too dark so i gotta test it". They consider suspicious behavior to be things like:
-Waving
-Looking at a the cop/cop car for too long
-Slowing down when you see them (even if you were going the speed limit to begin with).
-having a car that looks shitty, in that you might be a 'dealer' of some sort.

People with your attitudes are people that will usher in a police state. And to that i say: Fuck it.

What...

the...

fucking...

fuck?

Are you being serious here? If we have anyone to blame for 'rights not existing like they used to', it's people like you. "Well, I may be assumed to be a criminal without due process... but the pretty lady on the television says I'm safe, so I must be safe!" Lower crime does not require fewer rights, and when people like you bend over and take it up the ass because you think you'll be safer, everybody loses.

I know man, my mind is still reeling from that post. It was like getting hit in the face with a cinderblock of "What the fuck, man?"

The police state is already here my friend. Wait until we get out RFID chipped national IDs. Freedom died with the PATRIOT ACT. Am I happy to live in a police state...not at all. I just want to be left alone and be "free", just like everyone else here. I still feel that in the US, we do have more freedom and liberty than almost anywhere else. Of course there are abuses of power and certainly people have gotten fucked and railroaded in the past. Like I said before I just want to be left alone. Getting profiled and fitting the profile sucks....I've been there multiple times. The only upside is they figure out who you are and eventually leave you alone. Defiance simply DOES NOT WORK. Treating these people politely usually makes them treat you more like a human being, and less like an animal that will soon be in a cage.

You're not going to get your rights back by bending over for the state.

Seriously, that line of thinking is like the practice girls in high school thinking they can get respect by fucking the popular guys at a moment's notice - did they get anywhere? No. The real fun was with the girls who played said popular guys and epically owned them in front of all their friends when they fucked up. Being the bitch GETS YOU NOWHERE.

That's funny cos the serious dealers over here are the ones who have lush cars. A guy I used to live next to was a dealer, used to disappear for days and then turn up in a new car each time he returned.
