Ever wish there was a reset button for life?
so lately ive found myself pretty fuckin' depressed about how my lifes going. just really feel like i want to blow a .44 thru my face. just like having no money to do anything and stuff, then not being able to go to an epic mexico trip that ALL of my freinds are going, and i mean literally im the only one thats not going. my moms always pissed off. im just realy tired of life in its entirety.
advice/inspiration/motivation would be nice. Last edited by wes225; 06-30-2008 at 04:19 PM. Reason: fucked up the title |

Well, at least you won't get epic diarrhea from drinking the water in Mexico. I mean I can't really help with some of the other stuff, but hang in there man, you'll bounce back eventually, I guarantee it.

A reset button would suck. Just as much bad shit happened as good stuff when I was a kid and I know it wasn't different for any of my friends, no matter how popular we might have been back in the day. Besides, knowing what you do now, you would have some problems fitting with 5 and 6 year olds again
You have to take the good with the bad. If it ever feels like you've hit bottom, at least that gives you some place to plant your feet so you can push back up from there. All my failed relationships, missed opportunities, and disastrous outings make the ones that go well feel all that much better. You need to go through a few low, dark valleys so you can truly appreciate the splendor of the higher times in your life.

There is one way to think about it. Are you living in Zimbabwe where the only food you can get is from aid, which the government of there tries to get rid of, and then kills anyone who goes against them?
It's all about perspective dude, stop worrying about the minor things and just be patient, the good times will come ![]() |

If there was a "reset" button, life wouldn't be what it is.
I believe we have control over our life for the most part and that all happens for a reason. But that's me. One of the tip i'd give you is try to visualize what changes you want in your life and ways to get there. This is not easy to do AT ALL (anyway, nothing comes easy). You must think about the direction you want your life to take every single-goddamn-day, all the time. Especially when you go to sleep at night, just to leave your brain with projections, ideas about where you want your life to go. Another first step: stop saying "life suck". Negativity attracts negativity. Same with positivism. Help yourself, life will help you. ![]() |

I'm currently fighting a heavy-duty depression as well, so I can really feel your pain... indeed, I start counseling tomorrow, and dear god I hope it helps.
I personally wouldn't mind having an "undo" button for the past eight months, but I can't do that, and I can't guarantee that anything would go any better the second time around! I just have to push on. Ending it all removes all hope for anything to get better... and I know that there is always hope. Even when you're down at the bottom... |

I've been a bit down recently as well, mainly because of back-stabbing at work and my University results being shit.
However, it got put into perspective when I found out that a guy who lives at the top of my road, who I've known since I was about 7 or so, has prostate cancer ![]() It's in situations like this when you can say "At least I've got my health". Similarly, I met a Royal Marine today at the hospital where I work who was on duty in Afghanistan when a fuck-up in communcations led his convoy directly into the line of fire. His suspects his armoured vehicle hit a landmine but he can't be sure because all he remembers is turning the steering wheel and then waking up in hospital with both of his legs missing and his spine damaged. Surprisingly he was really upbeat and was joking about his condition, I've got to hand it to him I don't know if I'd be the same immediately after such an event ![]() Another bit of advice is a phrase I heard somewhere that I try to live my life by; "Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things" ![]() Sure, I still get down every now and again but I just think, 'in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?' and usually the answer is "no"...if it's "Yes" then I think about what I can do to change the situation ![]() I hope that helps anyway ![]()

I've been hating where I'm living for over a couple of years now. I plan to remedy this situation by taking the generous sum of money I have forced myself to save and, "Get the fuck out of dodge!" Look to the horizon my good man.

A reset button would be cool, but then when you think about it, if everything always turned out well, you'd never learn a damn thing from mistakes. Hang in there

Dude, You have to play the cards you were dealt, and make smart decisions in the rest of the game. I grew up with nothing that I didn't beg, borrow, or make. Be thankful for your advantages in life, and don't begrudge others theirs. Life isn't fair and it never will be. You will always be able to appreciate your gains so much more, if you have to work hard to get them. This is a satisfaction many privileged kids will never feel. You don't have to be a rich man to be a good man.
Now, go forth and forge! ![]() ![]()
