![]() ![]() ![]() | Build mah comp00t3r machine!1one Yar. I'm saving every little bit of cash I can right now so I can get myself a halfway decent machine to write and record on. Right now I'm using my stupid little Compaq, 704MB of RAM, 2.00GHz processor. I use FL Studio 7 as my DAW, but I would most likely try to learn Cubase or something on my new machine, since I'll be recording vocals. What interface would be good for recording vocals? Mbox? And a suggested condenser mic? One of my friends suggested a quadcore processor, since recording is a lot of multitasking stuff. Would this be a good idea? I'd be running a midi controller, a few synth plugins like Nexus, Vanguard, z3ta+, etc., DKFH, my PODx3, and the interface. What system specs would be good for this? I'd like to (if possible) keep all of this under $1000. Possible? I suck at this game..who wants to move this to Recording? ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | not possible for under a grand. i'd say a firebox or fire pod would be a good interface to the computer. cubase comes with it. the computer itself should have lots of good ram, i'd say go 4 gigs for fun. decent dual core 3.0. ------------------------ Shameless sale thread sig. http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gui...ogie-4x12.html |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Last summer I built a dual-core box with 2G of RAM, a badass video card, a good two-channel recording sound card, a quality case, a solid power supply, and proper cooling for $600. It's more than possible. I'd go with a Focusrite Saffire or a Firepod for the interface. I can either post a decent build here (with Newegg parts) or we can work through PM, whatever you want. We can pull it off for $1000-$1200, depending on how much you want to spend and what you need out of the box. Jeff |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, $500 in stuff (processor and ram) is a quite "loose" figure for upgrades to your existing computer. |
