Live Sound for playing Andy McKee's 'Drifting'?

Most people here seem to know this song, its been posted quite a few times. Ive gotta play this at a recital in a couple of weeks, but Im not gonna have much time to experiment with different mic/pickup arrangements. Options I have is my guitar has a piezo pickup in the bridge, I have an SM57, and I may be able to get hold of a decent vocal condenser. Guitar can go into my Roadster on clean or straight into the desk, and the SM57 could be used to mic the cabinet or the guitar aswell as the condenser. Anyone got any recommendations on mic choice/placement for getting the tapping, slapping, strumming all balanced together? Cheers!!

Life is a waste of time, time is a waste of life.

Well yeah, I mean on acoustic!! Sorry if I didnt make that clear: basically I have a pretty nice acoustic with a piezo pickup but I'll need mics aswell since the piezo doesnt pick up any of the tapping.

So the piezo could go straight into the desk or through the roadster, which could be mic'd up or just mic the guitar with the condenser and the sm57 or use the piezo aswell as close micing...so many options!!! I just thought someone here may have done something similar on acoustic and would know the best way to do it.

I wouldn't bother with a 57, i'd stick with condensers for this...the mic choice though depends on what you have really

depends what's available on the day, should be able to get hold of 1 or 2 condensers though. im just wondering whether to use the piezo through the mesa or into the desk. and if into the mesa, wether to mic up the cab.

im now going to see andy mckee next month so i might be able to get some advice from him if i can catch him after the show!

oh, sorry, my bad. I'd rent an acoustic amp, it will turn those piezo signals into a better sound for you. condenser mic for the acoustic itself. go to your local music store and let them know what you're doing, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
