DIVINE HERESY LASTNIGHT 11/15 NYC

i saw dh lastnight at the blender theatre.
venue was smaller than i expected and to even more suprise they were the first band to play. and oh my god what a show they put on. the music was on the money. their playing was so tight. it was awesome, dino's playing once again impressed, tommy's voice was just insane live, and tim's drumming was just yeah as always amazing. i took my brother in law with me who knows nothing about metal these days and just couldn't believe the drumming.

the playin was on , but dino's tone was horrific . he was playing through a vetta II line 6 head, and clearly has no idea how to use it . that head from experience is capable of playing and sounding so much better than what i saw lastnight, not to mention meshuggah uses them live and they just sound so clean and precise live . nothing like lastnight. the set was only 25 minutes long, and was in fact cut short. tommy was about the announce the next song when the guitar tech informed him of how the they were being cut.
marc rizzo from soulfly was hanging outside, and they through a shout out being he played on the beginning of one of their songs.

overall i thought they were amazing and had alot of energy, but being an opener they didn't have the best sound. drum triggers weren't coming through at all till third song, guitars were too trebly and didnt cut through, and bass guitar was completely inaudible. but the playing and feeling was all present and raging from the stage. great show.

I actually saw them the 14th at the Norva. Dino was playing through a Pod when I saw him though. I think sound wise it was the best set I've heard. everything was clear and the mix was really great which surprised me with them being the first band on.

Terror was one of the worst bands I've seen. I honestly believe I could have done way better.

And Kakatklysm FTW. (Though it sounded like the drummers snare was triggered. All his gravity blasts sounded fake.)

I'm not big on Chimaira but they did put on a hell of a show.

dude believe me they will be great, they were fantastic. they really impressed me. it will be fun. i can't speak for the rest of the bands, cause i went for dino and left once they were done. i didn't let the other bands ruin it for me hahahaha hence it was great.

holy shit i want to re live the night and see them again. i was so pumped.

hmm interesting, are you sure he played through the pod, cause i saw one lastnight, but it wasn't his, but the rack that was holding his vetta head was far out of sight. luckily for me this blender theatre is about the size of my closet, for i was two feet away from the band and could see everything on stage.

They'll be in SA on the 7th of December. I think Dino will be able to get me in.
