thanks guys, most of this i already knew/was planning on, but a few things i didnt think about. And the hot blond will have to wait, i dont think the brunnette gf would like her too much

the main thing i'm worried about is the mix. almost ver show i've been to at this bar, the guitars are buried in the mix, unless one specific guy is doin the sound, but i dunno if it's him or not.

If you want your guitars to cut through, then use the midrange! Most of the "buried" guitars will be due to these guys setting their sound so that it's competing with the bass, kickdrums, cymblas and the singer.

Midrange will make you cut through, even if the sound guy is a bit of a twat.

that much i do know, but thats not the problem at the place (well for most bands, some of the younger ones scoop way too much). i dunno if it's the venue or most of the sound guys, but it's usually literally all kick and vocals
