OHIO - looking for a show
Well, Division had a great time with our recent gigs in MN and MI, and well, while we should have learned our lesson at the bar with Regor, we'd like to do it again!
We're looking into Ohio. For one, I'm from Dayton Ohio, so that ensures an attendance of at least 2, with my mom and brother ![]() But mainly, Columbus is first on my to-do list, being it's so central and whatnot... Of course, Dayton, Cinci, and Cleveland are great too and I even have a friend or two in those cities... hehe. Tonight, when I get home, I plan to search myspace for bands (my work has it blocked, or else I'd look now!). If you know first-hand who is playing some kickass metal in the I-HATE-MICHIGAN state, post 'em! But what I could really use is some input on is the venue situation. Suggest some venues, if you don't mind. Spit it out and we can get a list going. Your opinion of the locals, stage, sound, etc are a plus too. Let her rip! James |

In Toledo - best venues are Headliners and Club Bijou (which re-opens on Sept. 10).
Headliners has 2 stages, 1 small and 1 large. Sound on the small is good, so-so on the large. National acts play there all the time. The small area holds maybe 500, the large stage probably at least a 1000, maybe more. Great place, real nice house PA systems. TRhey just typically run the main stage a bit too loud for my tastes. Bijou - also a great place. Ampitheater-like main stage, with a big floor. Terrific PA system and sound people. Has a smaller underground stage. Very classy. There are others here, but those are the best. Probably the biggest local band - OnceOver Here's a good page about band and venue type stuff for Toledo and the northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan area. http://www.t-townmusic.com/ |

Little Brother's in Columbus is an awesome little place. they have a great stage, and plenty of room for people to rock out in the floor.
in Cincy, i saw 40+ shows at Bogarts. again, an excellent place, but maybe a bit big? not sure. you could certainly try The Mad Frog. both venue's are located by the UC campus. there are tons of other venues in Cincy, but those two i know the best. i've also been to a place called The Grog Shop in Cleveland. it was ok, kind of a dive.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

Awesome!
Hey, Bogarts - I remember that place! Forgot all about it.... saw many-a-show there (the last being Megadeth / Iced Earth in 01, before I moved to DC)... Mad Frog - hehehe, my old band, the Duchovny Sex Bombs played there. They didn't like us much. |

Sudsy Malone's (spelling?) is accross from Bogarts. many bands play there after big acts come to Bogarts and most of them head on over.
Small place, but it's quite nice. |
