Style rethink, need some input.

Hello sevenstring.org, I’m about to waste your time with a lame, self-centric inquiry with regard to what many prefer to kick into the pit of the mundane. What is it that I speak of? Dunt dunt dunnnnnnnnnnn:

Fashion

Let me start off by saying, I really don’t have all that much interest in fashion… in fact, practically none, but I do like looking good (moreover, I do like the ladies thinking I’m looking good) so I try to maintain a well kept, but casual look. The thing is, I need to pick up some new work duds and it dawned on me that since I don’t really want to spend any more time than necessary entrenched in the dreaded shopping experience, that I really need to recharge the off-duty clothes as well. I thought at first that I'd just go the tried-and-true route and snag some nice button downs and casual pants, but you know, the look hasn't really worked for me as of late.

Basically, my look consists of either a dressy-casual thing comprised of, I guess you'd call them "preppie" type shirts, and slacks… or casual-casual thing consisting of khaki cargos and (usually) colored tee shirts. Run of the mill sorta looks, the kinda thing you see the wimmenz approving of. But truth be told here, this look hasn't really been the tractor beam of poon of late. So I'm rethinkin' my wardrobe and need a new place to start. Anyone gots any suggestions?

I guess now that music is more my direction once again, I was thinking of working that angle to a good degree… as we all know the rock star thing is pretty good at sucking panties onto the floor. The thing is, I really don't know where to start. I’m definitely into something more clean and stylish looking, as I really don’t want to look like a dirtbag… though, on the other hand, I don't want to go overboard with anything so fruity and "non-conformist" that only the weirdos will talk to me. Just something that looks good, and puts the "I’m a musician" vibe out there. What say you?

the best of both worlds.

...Each guitarist has an evil fat 40 year old blueswankler trying to get out, If you give in to temptation you'll be sitting next to a fender playing john lee hooker while trying to keep your combover in place.

Good plan... actually, I was thinking of going a little more of this route, more casual with the pants while keeping the dressy shirts... ironed but untucked and a couple of buttons down. I saw some promo photos with the dudes from Lacuna Coil in that kind of getup.

Cool T-shirts? Care to elaborate? As for the sleeves... not happening. I'm not a tat guy. Besides, this is just a clothing & accessories rethink.

Keep the ideas comming guys.

Khaki cargos.

I have about the same style as you- khaki cargos, plain color shirt, and I usually have on a black hoodie so I can cover my arms. (I have dermatitus... not the prettiestest thing to look at. )

change the colored shirt for an undershirt and button-up ala Lacuna Coil... At least, that's what I'd do. Although I'd favor long sleeves...

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

I would pick up some blue jeans. Black jeans IMO fade and look like shit. I haven't had black jeans in a long time. Along with Blue jeans I would just grab a bunch T's that you like. T shirt hell has some cool ones. Also Walmart actually has some cool shirts as well.

Also you don't seem like the sneaker type dude. If you are check out some pumas or something. There comfy and come in alot of dif color combos. If not just grab some dr martens or something

i'm all about black workshirts (like in the Lacuna Coil pics you mentioned) and black polo shirts for when i need to look a little more nicely dressed than a band shirt.

Yeah, good call, I'm thinking of grabbing some stylish jeans too to throw in the mix... and I've got a few tee's picked out, just some interesting ones from kick ass bands. I dunno about T-Shirt hell. Their shit is crazy funny, but most of it is way over-the-top offensive. I'm pretty sure abortion jokes won't go over with members of the opposite sex very well.

I dunno about necessasarily upgrading the shoes. I've got a pair of Oakley Gatling boots (see below) that are pretty slick. They're still looking pretty fresh, though they could use a cleanup.

Also, I’m going to focus on accessories a good bit. I’ve always been a minimalist (or without) when it came to jewelry, but now I’m thinking about making that more of a style focus. That sort of thing seems synonymous with the musician’s style ethic. I rather like the look of aged silver, which gives you a lot of choices as you can just pick up cool looking silver stuff and chemically age it.

Ya t shirt hell is way over the top. OldGlory.com Is another one I forgot about.

I would say grab a pair of sneakers as well. I mean boots won't/don't go with everything. Plus a pretty good pair can be scored for pretty cheap I got my all black lether/suede pumas for $20
