Eating too fast.

Anybody have this problem? I've had this problem since I was a kid. I got it from my parents, they eat really fast too. I heard it's not good for you to eat fast and that it can cause a heart attack?

I have to slow down when I eat but I find myself not doing so. The other day, we went to a buffet and my parents couldn't believe how fast I was eating. They said I had to slow down, I was eating faster than them.

At least they've slowed down eating. I have to.

Yeah, I kinda do, too. Although half of that may be me trying to exit the premises of the people surrounding me as quickly as possible, thus forcing me to eat more quickly.

Yeah, I eat real fast. I've been meaning to slow down, and I did for a while, but then the old habit just came back.

I learned to eat very quickly in school, I'd be done in like 5 minutes, lol. I've learned to chill out sometimes though.

I feel like a dog sometimes.

I have to learn to chew more. My thing is, I don't take the time to enjoy eating, just inhaling it all. I get hiccups all the time too so that's when I stop and take a breather. I have to work on it.

When I lived in the US, I was always the first done eating and everyone said, "You eat way too fast!" My mother always said, "Slow down and enjoy your food."

... then I came to Japan, where I still eat at the same speed, but I'm usually one of the last people done eating since everyone here eats at inhuman speeds. One of my co-workers ALWAYS finishes before me. I went to lunch with him today and he was finished with everything a minute or so before me. There have been times he's finished two to three minutes before me - when he ordered a bigger meal than me!

I generally have "breakfast" in about 30 seconds every day.

I don't think there is such a thing as "eating too fast" and I think the whole getting a heart attack from eating too fast is just a wives tale.

I have heard it's bad, and I used to eat very fast, but I'm managed to slow down considerably lately.

Definitely have less heartburn, I can tell you that, so I think there's lots of truth to it.

Oh yeah, they do eat really fast in Japan.

My father was in the Navy for 20 years so that has alot to do with why he ate fast.

I'm a very slow eater. I chew lots and i enjoy and savour my food. I'm consistently the last person to finish eating when i'm dining with family or friends.

I'm also a slow digester. If i eat too quickly, i get nasty acid reflux.
