I got lucky, I only had mine in for 1.5 years.

But yea, they start hurting the most overnight. When you wake up in the morning the first day after you get them in (and whenever you get them adjusted) that's when they are the worst. Same goes for retainers, which will come after. No pain, no gain. That's the price for beauty.

I was lucky, I never really needed braces. Although my bottom teeth up front are a tad crooked. My brother on the other hand, had them for what seemed like forever. I can't tell you how many times I made that bastard bleed. He was always like 50xs my size, so I'd just pop him in the mouth and wait for the blood to start pouring out so I could run away

I am the mask you wear.

As a teenager, i had full-on train tracks for over 4 years, then another couple of years of bonded wires on the back of the teeth. Then by my mid-20s, they had continued shifting to the point where my dentist recommended that i get braces again to prevent possible bone loss which might result in losing lower front teeth.

So i did.

I had them for another 2.5 years or so in my late 20s, and now have the bonded wires on the back of my teeth again, but this time, i'm keeping them on pretty much permanently.

.....Personal opinion.... I think girls with braces are cute.

But damn i'd hate to have to wear them.

though i've rarely seen guys with braces. o_0

You shake your ass but you're already dead.

VERY true. I have come to the conclusion that having braces makes teenagers emo... I seriously wanted to kill myself this morning.

Well.. It can only get better at this point. Especially since sevenstring.org isn't blocked at my school for being a forum . I think Jemsite is .

I had braces in my early teens - however seems like my teeth have shifted again and I have to get them again. However this time Im hoping to get Invisalign braces instead of the normal train sets.

Dude with braces - <insert prescription pain killer> is your friend.
