Favorite Sandwiches
OK what's your favorite use for two pieces of bread?
My short list. Italian Subs from this local pizza shop. They're huge, cheaper than Subway and way better than Subway. ![]() Plain cheesburgers. Salad belongs in a bowl. I love a good plain cheeseburger. Yes that means no ketchup, mayo or mustard. ![]() Grilled cheese. The lunch of my youth. I still love them. When I can get good bread and butter pickles to go with them it's like being 6 years old again. ![]()

A cheeseburger with provolone cheese or a meatball sub from Firehouse Subs.

Hmm. I'm not sure I have a favorite, per se. I don't eat sandwiches a whole lot.
If I had to guess, my most recent favorite, for the last year or two, is probably a sweet onion teriyaki Chicken from Subway, with provolone and lots of veggies. I eat cheeseburgers a bit, too, but even though I know they technically are, I don't really think of them as a "sandwich", exactly. But if we throw those in too, then a Wendy's classic single w/cheese and lots of veggies. (Except onion. Not a fan.) I like grilled cheese, too (although I don't eat them very much). You ever try one dipped in tomato soup, Eric? It's real tasty.

The cafe' up the street from me does something they call a "Rustica Special" (the place is called Cafe' Rustica). It's a half french baguette served up with lettice, tomato, basil, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and proiscutto. It's absolutely amazing.
![]() I'm also kind of fond of either ham or turkey on a lightly toasted roll/slices of bread with lettuce, tomato, hummus, and basil and a little bit of ground black pepper. ![]()

Turkey, stuffing and gravy
from a shitty little place in Birmingham called "Rendevous".Or, An Italian BMT from Subway with double meat and bacon with added spanish chorizo and hot english mustard (from home). The sandwich from Subway cost about £10 alone which is a little excessive to say the least.
More words here is more words.

Burger, medium cooked, with lettuce and tomato.
Ruben. Ham and Swiss. Roast beef, hard salami, ham, and provolone. Oh yeah, and I like horseradish mustard on everything. |
