You fag. * Drew reflects he really needs to hurry up and replace some of the componentry on his Voodoo, to get it in shape for the summer riding season. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I grew up in terrain like yours, Chris. I personally think that 90-95% of the trails you're going to find in New England are such that the added efficiency and lighter weight of a hardtail frame make up for what you lose in downhill control in climbing efficiency. New England riding is, due to the age of our mountains, largely rolling terrain and mostly small rocks and roots, while the younger mountains of the central and western US with their larger boulders and more jagged terrain are really where full suspension comes into its own. Of course, I stopped following competitive cycling and with it frame design back when most XC guys still rode hardtail frames - I suppose more efficient and lighter designs could have come out since then and FS has become more prevelant on the XC circuit. I could just be five or six years out of date here. Either way, if I can get my ass in shape, let's go riding this summer. ![]() |
