here recently i have been having some weird symptoms of getting super hungry and getting just a bit dizzy. sometimes i feel like i am getting tunnel vision and just about everytime i feel a little bit jittery. i really hope this is only because i am trying to get caffeine free. but, if it's hg or perhaps diabetes, then i am going to get myself tested. sometime. when i have insurance again. i was just wondering if anybody has one of the two or knows someone who has it and can shed some light on it for me. i find myself waking up at night needing to eat. it takes a little bit, but soon after i wake up, my stomach starts to growl. in the middle of the night.

I have those symptoms too, I didn't know they were symptoms of diabetes....I just recently got a blood test done and I'm waiting for the results, that shit will show up in it won't it? He took 3 vials so they could test for lots of shit on me. I was getting tested for a completely different reason though...

I do, what would you like to know?? PS if you do,do not not take the sugar test it will make you very ill. I eat (i try to eat) 6 small meals a day, my wife is a diabete i told the dr to hook our blood though lines together every night. She laughed. We both have O-.Really a Dr is where you need to go, both of these untreated can cause serious problems for you the rest of your life, if untreated.One of which is going blind. Keep Struming DONNIE

i'm not really sure dude. my wife tells me that you have to do the sugar test and then get your blood tested for insulin levels or something. i would think if they are testing for other things, they might not look at that but it may be one of the things they test for since you have fatigue. i've always heard that having low blood sugar will make you tired. or even types 1 and 2 diabetes will too, from what i've heard.

yeah, i should go to a doc. i do have some questions. when your sugar is getting too high, how do you feel? i can drink a sugary drink ok. i try to stay away from sugar if i can since i am trying to lose weight. i don't feel bad when i have had sugar. usually i can go for about 3-4 then i start to get hungry which is normal. well, i know that different people get hungry at different times. what's weird to me is that i seem to be getting intolerant to caffeine. is that related to diabetes or even hypoglycemia? it seems to me if i don't drink anything with caffeine in it, i don't get hungry as bad. any details you can give me will be great.

man, i do hope you find out what's wrong. i hate seeing people be sick and not know what's wrong. it scares me to not know what's wrong. good luck to you though.

I went to the doctor for a checkup for the first time in my life a few months ago. Any time I have a problem I just go to the clinic or emergency room. I got a blood test done and stuff, I'm still waiting to hear my results. I hope this hypo-whatever or diabetes will show up. I went for stomach/digestive problems and not fatigue/dizziness/tunnel vision...

My fiance has hypoglycemia.

If she doesn't eat, she gets -

- Irritable
- dizzy, lightheaded
- lethargic
- "spacey'... her attention wanders, and she gets real zoned out

These are all classic symptoms of hypoglycemia. It's similar to diabetes, and really, almost a form of it. The issue with hypoglycemia isn't too little insulin produced, however, it's too much, and an inability for the body to maintain blood sugar levels.

The diagnosis is a simple prceedure. The docs will just have you fast for a period, and then test your blood sugar levels.

If you find yourself hungry, increase your protein intake - lean meat, nuts, soy, dairy - these will help stabilize your sugar for much longer than sugars, starches, or carbohydrates.
