I never have had any lights on a bike, but I always wish I had 'em when winter rolls around and the damn time changes. That 10-15 ft of light beam doesn't sound like it would a tremendous amount of reaction time at speed, but I shouldn't really say, since I haven't experienced riding with lights. Hopefully it's much better than I'm imagining it. Good lookin' lights, though. But my gosh, that's expensive, and a bit more than I could afford.

Matt, how far is your ride to work, one-way? Many hills?

I got 5 miles to ride into work. I work 12 hours shifts so sometimes the ride home sucks. Now that I have been riding to work I feel so much better, and I have way more energy it seems. I will be going on a 30 mile ride today with a friend from work. 15 miles there 15 miles back. It should be a good time. This is going to be the longest ride I have ever taken, but it's pretty flat with only 1 bridge to go over so I think I can do it.

I want a ziploc rain coat. zepp88

Hey Matt, how did the ride go? Your mentioning of the bridge makes me wonder if it involves a climb... Is it one of those bridges that goes up & over, rather than just across? Just curious.

I did a 36 mile ride this morning (attached a topo map of it below). Had a great ride, but that mountain in the middle is one SERIOUS bitch of a climb.

Ride went great! Ended up not being as tired as I figured!! The bridge is up and over, makes you work the legs pretty good.

That topo is pretty cool. Looks like you had a good ride. I need to get a road bike!!!!!!!!

I will see if I can get a topo map of my ride and post it on here!

Here is a topo map of the Rail Trail in Bay City. The city takes really good care of the trail. Its paved but they still call it a trail. Its non-motorized only. And in Veterns park they have a disabled section for people in wheelchairs. It has all different kinds of things from them to do like pull upbars, balancing rails, teeter toter and so forth. Its really cool because it gets used all the time because there is an old folks home right there.
