Healthy foods?

Well, i've decided to go on a diet. Now, I don't mind being fat, but I just don't want to be AS fat anymore. For the past few months, i've been eating Oatmeal for breakfast, but that was just because I wanted something easy to make in the morning at work, I also have fruit with that, usually oranges or a grapefruit. So i'm good with breakfast

But I'm stuck on what kind of things I can eat for lunch. There's a supermarket right up the street from my workplace that has a salad bar, I go there from time to time but I can't eat salad everyday, I get bored of it quickly.

The only other kind of places around here are fast food, a subway(Jared diet anyone?), and a Wawa (for those of you who don't know what a wawa is, it's like a 7 eleven, but with a deli, and without the suck ).

Any good healthy lunch ideas?

You shake your ass but you're already dead.

I eat Subway a lot and have lost almost 30 lbs in the last year and a half. I like it because I can get one of the 6 grams of fat or less subs and some chips (baked lays of some sort) and only eat about 450-500 calories. Plus it keeps me full.

I also buy pre grilled chicken and warm it in the toater oven we have there. You can buy some vegetables from the freezer section that are in one meal portions to go with it.

Also if you have a microwave at work, lean frozen dinners are a good choice because they usually have less than 400 calories for the entire thing.

Good luck man!

Over last summer I lost about a stone and a half (21lbs...ish) Just through eating about 6 times a day and only healthy foods keeping note of how much fats, carbohydrates, protein I was taking in.

I think my most eaten meal over the entire summer was sweet potatoes and tuna Lovely

A good source of dietry stuff that's pretty well grounded and from a lot of people who specialise in nutrition can be found on:

Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site.

I definitely recommend reading a few articles on there, it helped me lose a few lbs (although I have subsequently put them back on again from eating a lot of chip shop food

I hope that helps

Yeah, I have a microwave at work, and a toaster oven, I'll browse what's in the freezers at the market next week.

We were contemplating buying a small gas grill for work, which would be good for a nice piece of lean chicken now and then.

I also tried making sandwhiches at some point last year too, but it's hard for me to find bread that I actually like. I like whole wheat and grain breads, but I can't seem to find a brand that's not dry. :-/
Potato bread is yummy, but the startch makes sugars, although I'm not sure how bad that can be if I have two slices a day for a sammich.

Thanks!

I've just decided...seeing as I'm back at home (instead of at uni) I can finally dedicate myself to a gym membership that I know I will be able to use for more than just a few months!

I am joining you on the quest to lose a few lbs

If only you lived here, we could go to the gym together. I've been contemplating a gym mebership. There's a gym about 2 minutes from my house, it's open 24/7, and it's $40 a month with a 6 month contract, which is pretty good.

I'd just rather not go alone, i'd feel.... Strange I guess, I'd rather be there with someone I know.

Yeah there's a gym not far from where I live, although I've never been there so don't actually know how good it is and what equipment it's got

I don't think anyone else I know cares much about going to the gym because...well, they have metabolisms that don't punish them for eating the delicious foods I eat one kebab and I've got an extra chin the next day!

Your uni didn't have a gym?? At my school we have a gym that is free to use as long as you are a student. It is really nice and they are open from 5 in the morning until 12 at night.

Yeah, but it was suprisingly expensive for student gym. And typical that in the last two months I was there the stafford council finished building a massive leisure complex right at the bottom of my street; swimming pool, gym, squash, tennis courts, basketball courts...you name it they built it!
