My grandfather was Indian, and while i didn't appreciate his absolutely stellar curries when i was a kid, i grew to love them as an adult. I just wish i'd had a chance to learn more from him while he was around.

Yep love em, I'm a big fan of most types of curry except Korma (way too mild), I also adore making Thai curries, making my own paste for them, superb

Yeah speaking of Thai, i bought some paste the other night right - By it's nature Thai green curries aren't supposed to be hot, they're supposed to be quite mild and coconutty, but my fucking GOD i could've cried blood this was so hot!!
How hot do you usually go btw? I draw the line at Madrass really, anything hotter than that and you can hardly taste it. Vindaloo maybe, if i'm in the mood. |

I've never understood why you british blokes call all Indian food "curries."
That said, I fucking love indian food. I'm a big saagwala fan, myself. ![]()

Because it is a curry! We don't call ALL indian food curry, only... well... the curries!! Saagwala, is that the spinach based one?

Yeah. MAde right, with just enough heat (usually it's awfully mild), it's pretty righteous.
And technically, it's NOT curry, lol, in that there's no curry in any of 'em. ![]() |
