Restoration Project

Well, I`ve had this old Martin that was given to me about 20 years ago that needs alot of love, and has been hanging in the shop, so I`m finally going to start on getting it back up and playing.

It`s a Martin O-17 Parlor, made in 1927. The side had a crack in it, and the owner sent to Martin to be repaired. During transit, good old UPS handling totally destroyed the side. The owner took it to another Luthier, who had ambitious thoughts that he knew what he was doing, but didn`t.

Long story short, It ended up in my hands from the owner as a gift , as she knew I would eventually get it back up and running someday, as I am fond of Parlors.

The neck needs to come out of it, and new kerfings & linings need to be made, and a new side bent for it.
Let the games begin!

I had to put it aside for the time being. Something to do with people ordering guitars which takes precedence over the restoration.

The guitar was given to me back in `85, so I don`t think it will mind waiting a little while longer to get restored
It will get done this year sometime, as I`m very fond of Parlor Guitars, and this one has a somewhat sad backstory behind it (which for some reason keeps resurfacing in my mind recently) so it needs to make music again.
