Music arts courses are awesomeeeeee

I just did my first day of Music arts, its a brand new program at this school and very cutting edge, and its amazing! We split the class (30ish people) into 4 ensembles, Jazz, Latin/Funk, Rock/alternative and Blues/songwriter... and im the only guitarist in jazz! Its amazing that the teacher thought that highly of me to put me as the principle jazz guitarist (theres like 7 guitarists in the course) but its also kinda alot of pressure, as im just starting off really into the world of jazz.. The teacher is great though, he plays jazz as his primary genre so if anyone can suck his brain for knowledge in one genre, jazz is the one. He graduated from berkley and like 2 other colleges so he has a varied technique of teaching which everyone says works really well (his speciality is teaching improvising apparently)

But looks like I'll be doing lots of jazz standards over the next 2 years! Should be fun. I advise EVERYONE to join a music arts course if you are thinking about it, not only is it the absolute BEST place to be around and study music, you meet really awesome people who love music so much. Im quite excited for these 2 years, even if no jobs come out of it in the end.
