John Williams/ The Black Decameron

Have any of you checked this album out? I am not too familiar with John Williams (the classical guitarist who performed all the guitars) or Leo Brouwer (the cat who wrote all the music) but I heard the entire version of Concerto de Toronto the other day and I had to pick it up.

Its a great mix of classical guitar along with the London Sinfonietta. I would encourage any of you classical guitarist fans or classical music in general to check it out. This will definitely make the 3 hour Memorial Day trip up north a lot better. I may even bring my 7 along.

Peace!

After Simon bites that Skeleton’s face in half, he is going to rape that hydra. That’s how Simon rolls..

Cool man, I'll check that album out.

John Williams is a huge name in classical guitar circles - his playing is always superb.

And Leo Brouwer is my favorite classical guitar composer. Anyone who's a Randy Rhoads fan should check him out - Randy copped as many licks as he could from him.

I play a Brouwer piece called Cuban Landscape with Bells which has lots of two-handed playing in it and is lots of fun. There's also a beautiful guitar quartet called Cuban Landscape with Rain.
