![]() | Renaissance playing Hello everyone, i was just wondering if any of you could recommend some good renaissance or medieval-ish type of guitar players or music to check out. Im really interested in this type of playing but i cant seem to find many players of the type. It seems the renaissance faire's are the only place i hear it! Any information would really kick ass, thanks! Death be not proud, though some have called thee mighty and dreadful, for though art not so. |

![]() ![]() | As for composers, check out John Dowland. I've played "Fantasie" and it is great piece. MIDI: http://www.classtab.org/jdfanta.mid Tab: http://www.classtab.org/jdfanta.txt But do try to find the sheet music. And here's a YouTube of some guy playing it: YouTube - Fantasia-John Dowland He uses a capo, but I never did. the devil is in the details Last edited by subatomicsatan; 05-16-2007 at 03:21 PM. ![]() | For really good guitar Renaissance music I would check out Paul O'dette. He actually does not even play the guitar, he plays the lute, but he is pretty much the best at it. Most of the pieces he plays have guitar transcriptions available too. Renaissance and Baroque music is all he does so you can buy any CD and you will get what you want. Just search Amazon. |
