I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. When I do I'll post back with comments (probably lavishing praise upon it...I mean for fuck's sake, it's McLaughlin, of course it's gonna rock!).

cool, I would appreciate that. I'm listening to lenny breau "mosaic", a compilation of recordings of his that Randy Bachman threw together. I'll be sure to post my thoughts on it when I'm done too.

Got it on right now.

Incredible compositions and playing from all involved. Such an amazing rhythm section (Kai Ekhardt and Dominic DiPiazza on bass, and Trilok Gurtu on drums)...

He's been a huge inspiration to me since my early teens. 'The Inner Mounting Flame' was one of my first two jazz records, along with Weather Report's 'Heavy Weather' that I purchased on the same day when I was 14.

I've been on a big McLaughlin kick lately. The first Shakti album and "Inner Worlds" have been on constant rotation in my cd player.

The Shakti album's a classic...one of my favourite acoustic albums.
