Agile Acoustics?
Has anybody ordered an acoustic guitar from Rondo? Are their acoustics as well liked around here as the electrics?

I've never played one, so take this with a grain of salt...
...but especially for budget acoustics, you REALLY want to play before you buy. The individual cuts of wood and build quality from guitar to guitar can make a huge difference even from guitar to guitar on a manufacturer, especially on an entry level model with possibly spotty QC. A solid body electric is somewhat less dependant to individual factors like this, but an acoustic...

I guess my point was more I wouldn't buy even a good quality acoustic sight-unseen, in that acoustics are very individual guitars. If you find one in a shop, and it rules, then grab it, but even a high end acoustic I'd want to play the exact specimen of the model I was interested in that I was going to buy before I put my money down.
I'm not slagging on Agile worksmanship, but rather saying that to me each acoustic guitar has more unique "personality" based on the specific peices of wood and integrity of the joints and whatnot than any comparable sample of electrics. |

Like we discussed before chris, If you buy it and you don't like it you can return it sans shipping.

Normally, I wouldn't buy an acoustic sight unseen for the reasons Drew listed. However, for $150, I'd say go for it, and if it sucks, flip it on Ebay.
Edit: Or, as Jason says, just return it ![]() |

I guess $150 isn't a bad gamble for a beater - especially for a guy who runs a recording studio, since sometimes a reallly shitty sounding acoustic can have a "vibe" to it that a cleaner, richer one doesn't. What the hell. ![]() |

I'm absolutely tempted by Agile stuff right now. I do so many projects of different tastes and styles that having tonal more tonal options would be a Godsend. I've noticed everyone raving about them lately and they look pretty sharp to me.
Unfortunately, my budget is really tight right now so I can either own one or two great guitars or a whole bunch of cheaper lower quality ones. |
