A good BB King compilation would be a good place to start...
Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

I believe there's a Stevie Ray Vaughn compilation album that collects a whole bunch of his slow blues performances together. Can't remember the title, though. Most blues albums seem to have more upbeat songs, with just a couple of longer slow songs to balance things out.

Oooooh, a blues thread.
A couple blues discs that I'd recommend: Jimi Hendrix: "Jimi: Blues" Amazon.com: Howlin' Wolf/Moanin' in the Moonlight: Music: Howlin' Wolf Stevie Ray Vaughan - "The Sky is Crying" Elmore James - "The Sky is Crying" Albert King - King of the Blues Guitar At the very least, grab the Jimi disc (which will surprise you) and the Wolf disc (two of his albums reissued as one,. which just simply kicks ass). Hubert Sumlin's solo on Wolf's "Spoonful" makes you wonder whyt he fuck anyone was so excited about Clapton. The two "Sky is Crying" albums are fun, because you get to see two great blues singers each put their stamp on a great song - James' original, and SRV's excellent cover.

For BB King albums, I really love:
1. BB King & Friends-80 2. BB King The Ultimate Collection They have tons of great songs and the 80 album has alot of other great musicians performing with BB doing all new studio recordings of some of his best classics.
I am the mask you wear.

For some good, more jazzy stuff, check out Sapphire Blue by Larry Carlton.
