Indeed. Im willing to bet that there was never, EVER a lefty 1527, and the fact that it's on jemsite as a model for like, '04 is a typo that originated from jemsite, or their source.

Yeah its not a 1527, I checked into it further and it was an error. I think from now on though I'll buy the Ibanez necks and just build lefties with reverse headstock. Its a real shame that Ibanez wont flip the machines for a day and help out us lefties. A poor choice on their part. As for the body, I'm keeping it for now with all the other spare parts I collect. Who knows, it may come in handy one day.
If I had superpowers, my instruments would be train wrecks and boulders smashing. It would be heavier than the heaviest of metal.

I got in touch with someone at Ibanez in Japan about 6 months ago and they said (almost 3 months later) that the details are actually of a the 15271 which was a hardtail prestige version of the 1527 only available right handed. |

Why not get a standard lefty RG370DXL or simliar and have a righty 7 string trem converted to a lefty
, it is possible to have it done, then get a righty RG 7 String neck, then fit it onto the lefty body and there you go, you gotta lefty 7 string with a floating trem AND a reversed neck , the neck cavity can always be widened if need be on a 6 string, for the 7 string neck ![]() |

![]() There is a guy on youtube who did just that. Good player too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7XDPnXywZU P.S. the V is arriving on Wednesday, can't wait! Got the headstock sanded to match the wood grain, and I really don't want to support Ibanez ![]() |

SWEEEEEEEEET
, I too have that plan for my next project cos I'm going to do the exact same thing myself, with my RG370DXL, but I'll also putting a 2x Classic White and 1x Gold swirl body finish, so that I can have it in my fave body color, but also with the minimal Gold swirl, to match with the gold hardware that I'm putting on it on mine and I'll just keep the logo for the hell of it, but when anyone asks if it's an ibanez custom, I'll just simply say, "Who's Ibanez?" lolAWESOME, I'll bet that you're drooling at that puppy , I wish that I could be there when you plug it in and let it rip on the amp , oh well, when I eventually get this guitar made, I'll post pics of it in here ![]() |

Niice! I'll post on Wednesday how the finished product sounds, essentially I wanted this one to be a mean metal guitar with heavy tones for shred and a huge sound. The maple wood + EMG707s should give it a really bright tone and handle the lows pretty well (GCGCGCE) I tried on the Schecter 007 lackjack but its so thick on the low G that it muddies up the tone and doesn't vut through the way I need it to... ah well. here's to hoping! Keep me updated on your progress too, we could learn a lot! |
