For Sale: 7-string single coil-Custom!

Please read this if you own a Blaze single!

I'm testing the waters here. I have a custom 7-string pickup I made using Dimarzio bobbins. It's currently a humbucker (2 Alnico singles together) and soon I'll be converting it to two seperate single coils. I only use it wired as a single coil to select each coil individually, for hum cancelling purposes. But if/when I split it, I'll have two single coils. So the second is available for sale immediately.

It's a vintage strat sounding single. So it's a big upgrade from the Blaze single IMO. It has correctly staggered Alnico strat pole pieces. The Blaze, however, is an allen pole with a base magnet. The best way I can describe it is like a Blue Velvet single. So if you have a UV or other 7 with a single coil, this would make a great middle or neck pickup.

I'm going to make mine a single coil so I can add a middle single to my Schecter C-7 Blackjack. If no one's interested then maybe I'll add the leftover single to my 7-string lap steel.

It is not a stack. If someone is interested in an HS-2 style stacked single coil, I can make that, too. But it would be more expensive than a brand new Blaze single.

I can sell this single for about the same price as a Blaze. I'll just need to know if you'll be direct mounting it, or pickguard mounting it.

Frank, I'm intrigued - I've never gotten comfortable with the Blaze single, as it just sounds sterile to my ears, yet I LOVE singlecoils. How much are you looking? Shoot me a PM. Also, what color is the bobbin? Would it be something I could do easily on my end to swap it with the existing bobbin top of the single in my PWH? I've been hesitant to play with new pickups in this thing because the aged white ones look so badass...

The Blaze single is uncovered. So unfortunately, you can't switch the tops. They're colored bobbins. So to clarify, this is a black pickup. It can only be changed with stick-on bobbin toppers. But sonically, you're assessment is dead on. PM on the way...

Edit: Usually my wife makes the bed.
