Dingwall ABZ-5 Whalepoolburst
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: This is the second Dingwall ABZ-5 I have owned and I just have to come to terms with the fact that my fingers are too short to handle the stretches, especially in the first position.
It's in pretty good shape overall, there is some fretwear but it has zero effect on playability, you can't feel it whatsoever and after speaking with Sheldon apparently that is how the banjo frets work on the Dingwall stuff. He said he has had very few basses come back for fretwork so these have their whole life ahead of them still. I just always prefer full disclosure. There is a little finish wear below the neck pickup and the Dingwall logo on the neck pickup is worn where you would normally play, it's all normal play wear but again full disclosure. I'll have hi-res pics up soon, hopefully this afternoon. ![]() Modifications (if any): Still bone stock Accessories (hardshell case etc): Includes the original Dingwall bag and the truss rod tool. Location (City,State or City,Country): NoVa Contact Info (No Phone #s) PM is fine, if my box is full leave me a visitor message and I'll clear it out as soon as I'm online again References Required (eBay or other forum userid): check my iTrader here please ![]() Price (include currency and if firm/obo): Asking $1550 via PP gift including shipping Pictures: I'll get some online tonight hopefully, haven't been home with enough light to take decent shots but it looks nice out today! ![]() These really are stellar basses as far as build quality and tone goes, VERY lightweight and resonant and that low B is the best I've heard. If my stubby fingers could handle the scales I wouldn't consider moving this but the reality is I can get around just fine on my stingray but I'm struggling on this. Great tone means nothing if you can't comfortably play the bass! ![]() The last two I've seen sell were $1500 and $1600 on Talkbass. I figured I'd give you guys a shot first in case someone on here was looking for one at about $500 off new, but if it's not sold by this weekend I'm listing it there and I'm almost positive it will be sold within a few days on there.
