WTB Ibanez red RG-770DX (maple fb/red shark teeth)

Hello everyone!
Every time I see one of these on eBay, I'm always like, man, I'd love to have one of those, but always turn it down because of it's inferior string count.
Well, I've decided that I'll give it a break, and that I'd like to get one. There's one on the 'bay with a repaired headstock for $200... I'd like to spend between that and $400, depending on condition, though pristine condition is something I'd actually turn away from if a fully functional, less than perfect alternative was available for less.
So, anyone have one?

I have a friend who has what I think is a 770, but I haven't had a proper look at it yet. He wants to sell it. I'm not sure how much he'll want for it, and from what I saw, the fretboard is in bad condition.
I'll take a look at it tomorrow evening and ask what he wants for it.
Funnily enough, it's the same as the one in the pic.

I do know that he doesn't have a case for it, that's for sure.

Well I checked it out tonight. He's unsure if he wants to sell as he might not get much for it. I'll get him to get some pics of it.
The fretboard isn't so bad, it's just dirt. Hardly any dings.
The only unusual thing about it is serial number says it's '91 but it has Lo Pro instead of Edge, and I thought they had Edge until '92. Maybe the neck's '91 but the rest was put together in '92?

I was thinking about that too... maybe it's why I'm having red pearl inlays put in the ebony board of my very dark red marble w/black sides KxK 7

The 20th Anniversary RGs are supposed to be maple boarded and brightly colored, plus, they are coming with color matched cases
It might be worth just chilling 'til the January NAMM to see if you like a new offering better. Not all of those old Wizard necks made to 10 years old without cracks in the headstock.
