FS: C-7 Hellraiser
I've decided to sell my C-7 Hellraiser - I've come to the realization that 7 strings really aren't my bag, despite how much I've loved them the past year.
It's in good condition, probably 8.5/10. I bought it on 10-7-05 from DCGL, only been gigged twice. Never abused. The frets are in perfect condition, but there are some dings. There is a pinhead sized little divit in the upper horn (pictured), a small football shaped dent with a small finish crack in the middle, which is about 1/3 an inch long near the low B top rivet for the stringthru, a small chip in the paint near the input jack (pictured), a tiny chip on the edge of the bridge pickup route I've filled in with a sharpie (pictured), and some tiny marks on the tip of the headstock (also pictured). There is some of the typical wear on the black bridge plating from palm muting, but that's going to happen to any axe. Other than that, it plays great, sounds great, and is in solid condition. No structural damage whatsoever - the action is low, neck is straight, no fretwear at all. Included is the original Schecter hardshell case (2 Schecter stickers, some tiny sticker residue from the old DCGL sticker I had in the corner, I can take pictures of the case if needed), black schaller straplocks, a black leather kepur strap, and 2 set's of strings. It's currently set up for 10-46's and a low 60, in B standard. I've rewired it back to stock (had it with just a master volume), and everything works like new. I'm asking $600 + shipping, seeing as the blem models go for 600, and I'm including the case, strap, and straplocks. If you feel this is too high, make me an offer, but please don't lowball. Not looking for trades unless you have an ESP EC-1000 in Amber or one of the satin colors, or an EC-400AT in black. Heathen. If this were 800 years ago you'd be drawn and quartered for this kind of treachery. Maybe its not your bag because the Hellraiser has a giant baseball bat neck? Have you played the Ibanez 7s? The ESP EC1000 is nice though, cool guitar.

.I've come to a couple conclusions, but the bottom line is that I find higher tunings superior for reasons of tone and riffs. Basically, the lower you go, the less tight, grindy, midrangey tone you get, and it's been proven on a couple records recently. On the new Decapitated, the C# songs are probably the coolest deathmetal tone I've ever heard - super tight, great midrange grind, insane clarity. As soon as the songs with the 7 string hit, it turns muddy and kind of sludgy. Also, I find riff's way more interesting in higher tunings. Much like a wah pedal is a bandaid for shitty solos, I find that you can write much cooler, more interesting, musical riffs when you're not hiding behind the 'cool factor' of tuning below C#. Case in point? 0-1-0-1111 sounds like balls in E or D, but morse code riffs sound fine in B. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the morse code in B, but my preferences and style go way more towards the complex, interesting, musical riffs I write a ton easier when not in B. Finally, 7 strings are just too fucking hard to find for my tastes. I hate strat style guitars, I need a mahogany body, set neck, and 2 humbuckers with a stoptail. |

If you like higher tunings so much, why don't you just tune that bitch up!? Then your high E will be even higher--> even more interesting
. I know what you mean though, i've been playing my Viper A LOT lately...but there's something about B standard that i LOVE. |
