FS: Ibanez SCA220 (US Only)

I've got a 2001 Ibanez SCA220 for sale. I'm looking to get $160 for it,
with the buyer to pay actual shipping via either FedEx Ground or UPS
ground, in the US only. Please PM me if interested. Read on for more
info.

Not many people realize that the SCA220 is made in Japan, but it is, as
you can see from the serial number pic below (serial number starts with
"F"). The guitar plays really well, but its finish has seen better
days. It's currently set up with 10-46 gauge strings, with an action
height at fret 22 of 1.9mm on the high E and 2.1mm on the low E. With
this set up there is minimal acoustic fret buzz, and none (to my ear)
that makes it through the amp. To demonstrate this, I recorded an MP3
of myself playing every note on the guitar through my amp's clean
channel, which you can find
here.
The neck is straight, and the fretwear is minimal, with the most
noticeable fretwear being a slight indentation of the low E and A on
fret 1, and a slight wearing below the G, B, and E strings on the lower
frets. I've tried to show this in the pictures, but it's hard to show
since the fretwear really is pretty minimal.

Cosmetically, I would rate this guitar as "fair." It has numerous dings
and chips along the body edges, a few indentations along the edges of
the fretboard and on the headstock, and a ton of buckle rash on the
back. I'd say at least a quarter of the guitar's back is buckle rash.
The buckle rash doesn't look like it makes it through the paint, but
there's enough of it to be easily noticeable. I've tried to show all
the cosmetic imperfections in the pics below.

I've included in the pictures below three pages from the 2001 Ibanez
catalog (taken from Ibanezrules.com and temporarily hosted on my site),
showing this model and its specifications. Briefly, it's got a fixed
wrap-around bridge, two humbuckers, 22 medium frets, a 12" radius of
curvature rosewood fretboard, a 25.1" scale length (similar to PRS's 25"
scale length), and a mahogany body in "black pearl" finish. The pickups
are Ibanez's lesser-known V6's, which have a ceramic magnet, medium
output, and sound pretty punchy. To my ears they sound similar to the
Dimarzio Evolution neck. The neck profile is very nice---not too thick,
not too thin. The switching config is Ibanez's "special 5-way", which
allows coil tapping in positions 2 and 4. Note that the diagram in
Ibanez's catalog is incorrect for this model---in the coil-tapped neck
position only one coil is active.

You'll notice that the original pickup rings have been replaced with
chrome pickup rings. I'll include the original pickup rings with the
shipment when I ship it. I should note that one screw holding the neck
pickup ring broke in the body. There are still enough threads for the
screw to hold, though. Also, neither the control knobs or the strap
pins are original. The knobs are large black, knurled knobs, and the
strap pins are Schaller locking strap pins.

No case is included, but I will ship the guitar double-boxed.

In many ways I'll be sad to see this guitar go---it was my main player
for a period of about 6 months---but I just prefer my 24-fretters.

For payment I prefer "personal" Paypal transactions (transactions drawn
on your account balance or an eCheck---I'm not set up to accept credit
card payments), but if you'd rather use a credit card through Paypal
maybe we can work something out. I'll also accept check or money order,
but will have to wait for funds to clear before shipping.

If you're interested, I have 100% positive feedback on e-Bay. My handle
there is also giannifive.
